Police Dog Elsa Nabs Dover Car Thief After Midnight Chase
A daring early morning drama unfolded in Dover when a police dog helped officers nab a suspected car thief. It all kicked off at 2.48am on Monday, 9 December 2025, after Kent Police were tipped off about a stolen vehicle on Primrose Road.
Stolen Ford S-Max Spotted and Pursued
Officers soon caught sight of the pilfered Ford S-Max in nearby Whitfield. When cops flashed their sirens, the driver slammed the accelerator and sped off, sparking a short but tense chase. The getaway ended when the car stopped abruptly, and the suspect bolted on foot.
Police Dog Elsa Sniffs Out the Fleeing Suspect
Enter Elsa, the fearless police dog. Using her nose, she tracked down the suspect hiding in a nearby field. Officers swiftly moved in and arrested the man, recovering the stolen vehicle.
Suspect Charged with Multiple Offences
- Kai Hubbard, 26, no fixed address, charged with aggravated vehicle taking including damage, dangerous driving, and three other offences.
- Appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 10 December and remanded in custody ahead of his hearing at Canterbury Crown Court.
Kent Police hailed Elsa for her crucial role in bringing the suspect to justice.
