Man Busted for Two Jewellery Thefts at Romford Shopping Centre
A 29-year-old man has been charged after pulling off two jewellery thefts at a store inside The Liberty Shopping Centre, Romford.
Abdul Saboor in the Dock
Abdul Saboor, from London Road, Romford, was formally charged on 28 April 2025 with two counts of theft. He’s been bailed and will face Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on 16 May 2025.
Swift Police Action Nabs Suspect
The charges relate to two separate incidents. On Monday, 28 April, officers from the Romford Town Centre Team responded to a report of a man stealing jewellery from a local shop. They quickly arrived at the scene and arrested Saboor.
Further investigation linked Saboor to an earlier theft at the same store on 7 April. He was arrested for that crime as well.
Police Prioritise Retail Crime in Romford
“This prompt arrest highlights the proactive efforts of our town centre team to tackle retail crime and ensure the safety of Romford’s businesses and shoppers,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
Officers continue to work closely with local retailers to crack down on shoplifting and protect the Romford community.
