Police Officer Charged with Child Abduction and Sexual Exploitation
PC Elliot Wright Arrested Over Serious Allegations
Bedfordshire Police officer PC Elliot Wright, 29, has been charged with child abduction and arranging the sexual exploitation of a child. The officer, who worked in roads policing, was suspended and appeared today at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court.
Incident Sparks Grave Concerns
Wright was detained in Bedfordshire on Thursday night after reports raised alarm for a teenage girl’s safety. Thankfully, the girl was found safe and has been safeguarded by authorities.
Additional Charges and Court Proceedings
Besides child abduction and arranging sexual exploitation charges, Wright faces allegations of misconduct in public office. The accused was remanded in custody and will next appear at St Albans Crown Court on April 23.
Independent Investigation Underway
Due to the severity of the case, the matter has been handed to a different police force for an independent probe. It is also being reviewed by the Independent Office for Police Conduct. Bedfordshire Police pledged to uphold the highest standards of integrity and promised full cooperation to ensure justice is done.
