Two men found guilty of savage murder at Seven Sisters Tube station after a chilling British Transport Police probe.
Murder Verdict Delivered
Kevin Nguyen, 21, from Tottenham, was convicted of murdering 33-year-old Ervin Baraku at Inner London Crown Court on 12 June. His accomplice, Milumo Pedrinho, also 21 and from Tottenham, had already pleaded guilty to the same crime back in April.
Both men will return to court on 16 June for sentencing.
Brutal Attack on a London Morning
The horror unfolded shortly before 9 AM on 23 July 2024. CCTV showed a violent altercation on the street near Seven Sisters Underground. Pedrinho chased Ervin into the station with a large knife, followed by Nguyen.
At the foot of the stairs, Pedrinho stabbed Ervin in the chest. Nguyen then fled, leaving Ervin collapsed. Paramedics rushed the victim to hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries a week later on 30 July.
Swift Arrests and Police Reaction
- Nguyen was arrested the day after the attack, 24 July.
- Pedrinho was taken into custody three days later on 27 July.
Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn of British Transport Police slammed the “senseless and tragic attack.”
“There is absolutely no place for violence on the Tube network,” Blackburn said. “I’m pleased both men have been held to account for this brutal murder.”
“No sentence can ease the pain of loss, but I hope justice brings Ervin’s family some peace.”
