Influencer Jailed for Exploiting Teenage Girls
An aspiring social media influencer has been locked up after admitting to serious sex offences against two teenage girls.
From TikTok Fame to Courtroom Shame
Reaquain Palmer, 24, first caught police attention in July last year when a schoolgirl confided to staff about a sexual relationship with him. The victim had known Palmer through his viral TikTok videos before meeting him in person.
Palmer invited the girl back to his nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham flat and had sex with her on three occasions. Despite initially denying the encounters, damaging messages on his phone revealed he knew her true age but pursued her anyway.
Threats and Denials Fail to Hide the Truth
Palmer also denied contacting another schoolgirl to engage in sexual acts over the phone. As the investigation unfolded, he threatened one of his victims in a failed attempt to sabotage the case against him.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15, sexual communications with a child, and witness intimidation.
Three Years and Eight Months Behind Bars
Nottingham Crown Court sentenced Palmer to three years and eight months in prison on July 26. He was also slapped with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, restricting his online presence and contact with children.
Police Warn Others: ‘Don’t Prey on Kids’
Detective Sergeant Julie Salisbury said, “Palmer was well known to girls in Nottingham thanks to his social media following. While social media fame isn’t a crime, sexually exploiting children obviously is. He knew exactly the ages of these girls but chose to exploit them.”
“I hope this sentence sends a clear warning to other young men tempted to behave like this. Nothing matters more than the safety of our children, and we won’t hesitate to bring offenders to justice.”
