Surrey Deputy Headteacher Jailed for Taking and Making Child Sex Images
A deputy headteacher from Dorking has been locked up for two years after pleading guilty to serious child sex offences. Andy Robson, 42, admitted to taking and making indecent images of children over several years.
Two Years Behind Bars for Schoolman
Robson, who lives on Leslie Road, appeared at South West Surrey Magistrates’ Court in Guildford on 19 June. He pled guilty to two counts of taking indecent images and two counts of making indecent images of children.
The offences took place over a lengthy period. The making charges relate to images recorded between March 2016 and February 2017, while the taking offences span from March 2010 to February 2017.
Disturbing Images Found on Home Device
Police swooped on Robson’s home on 22 February 2017. A search warrant uncovered a device hosting disturbing images, triggering an immediate investigation by Surrey Police working closely with Surrey Children’s Services.
The covertly recorded images showed children changing after school sports activities. Detective Inspector Jon Vogel from Surrey Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team condemned the actions, saying:
“The taking and making of indecent images of children is deplorable. We found images of pupils getting changed, which is an absolute betrayal of trust.”
“We acted swiftly to safeguard those involved and protect their wellbeing. The 24-month sentence, coupled with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placement on the Sex Offenders Register, reflects the severity of these crimes. We hope this brings some solace to the victims and their families.”
Police Urge Public to Report Suspicions
DI Vogel added:
“Surrey Police take all allegations like this extremely seriously. Anyone who suspects someone is involved in similar offences should report it immediately.”
Robson was handed a 24-month prison sentence and a decade-long Sexual Harm Prevention Order, ensuring he remains under strict supervision for years to come.
