Kent Police were called at 11:53pm after reports of a man armed with an axe outside a premises on Tontine Street. The suspect allegedly threatened people he knew following an earlier row before making a swift escape.

James Brown Charged and Granted Bail

On Sunday, 22 September, 39-year-old James Brown of Warren Close was charged with possession of a bladed article, possession of a Class B drug, and a public order offence.

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court the next day and was granted bail. Brown is set to face Canterbury Crown Court for further hearings.
