Adrian Atkinson, 31, a Sussex police officer, has admitted to tearing down Coombe Valley Way between Bexhill and Hastings at a shocking 111mph in a 50mph zone. The incident happened on June 21 as he was heading to work.

Magistrates’ Court Hands Down 28-Day Ban and £750 Fine

Atkinson faced Guildford Magistrates’ Court on December 16. He was banned from driving for 28 days. On top of that, he was slapped with a £385 fine, a £154 victim surcharge, and £210 in costs.

“Sussex Police expects the highest personal and professional standards of anyone who works for us,” said Chief Superintendent Lisa Bell. “Our Professional Standards Department will now consider disciplinary action following the court’s result.”
