Taxi boss Mohammed Haroon Zeb was fatally shot in a family feud ambush outside his home in Queens Cross. Known as Haroon, the 39-year-old taxi firm manager was shot in the head in the early hours of 31 January 2021 and later died in hospital.
Investigators linked Akeel Hussain to the murder plot through phone records and social media posts. The 23-year-old from Dudley had been hit by a car just weeks before the attack but still played a key role in orchestrating the deadly ambush.
Two other men, who fired the fatal shot from a stolen Volkswagen Golf with false plates, were jailed for a total of 60 years earlier this year.
Following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Hussain was found guilty of manslaughter on 14 November. He was already in custody for violent disorder and possession with intent to supply. Hussain is due to be sentenced on 1 December.
Another co-conspirator, Mohammed Rafiq, 22, also from Dudley, was caught after attempting to hide the getaway car in Telford. Rafiq was convicted of attempting to pervert the course of justice and is also scheduled for sentencing on 1 December.
