On January 31 at around 12:30pm, police rushed to Weekday Cross after panicked witnesses reported youths flashing knives near the art gallery. The public watched in horror as the teenagers threatened rivals in a brazen display of aggression.
Justice Served: Youths Jailed After CCTV Proves Guilt
Detectives trawled through CCTV footage, quickly identifying Bazuna, 19, and Bolton, 18, as the machete-waving culprits. Though no one was hurt, the potential for violence was sky high.
At Nottingham Crown Court, Bazuna was locked up for 16 months in a youth offender institution. Bolton got an even stiffer sentence of 18 months behind bars.
Police and Judge Slam ‘Revolting’ Stunt
Recorder David Bedenham called the incident “petrifying and shocking” for witnesses, warning it could ignite more trouble.
Detective Inspector Chris Berryman of Nottinghamshire Police blasted the reckless knife-wielding as “revolting” and praised cops for the rapid investigation and arrests.
