Three teens charged after 16-year-old stabbed in Dagenham
Early morning stabbing shocks Longbridge Road
Police rushed to Longbridge Road, Dagenham, just after 9am on Tuesday, March 11, following reports of a stabbing. A 16-year-old boy was found with stab wounds and quickly taken to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or permanently damaging.
Four suspects arrested, three now charged
Initially, four teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. Three of these youths have since been formally charged and remanded in custody.
Youth court hearing set for today
The three charged teens are due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Youth Court today, March 12.
Police statement and ongoing probe
“Police were called at 09:02hrs on Tuesday, 11 March, to Longbridge Road, Dagenham, following reports of an assault. Officers attended alongside London Ambulance Service, and a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with stab wounds. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening or changing. Four boys were arrested, with three since charged and remanded in custody,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.
