Three Teens Held Over Leigh Man’s Canal Murder

Three young men, aged 16, 17, and 18, were arrested on Friday, March 26, in connection with a shocking murder in Leigh. They will remain in custody for 36 more hours after a court hearing at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, March 27.

Body Found in Leeds and Liverpool Canal

Police launched a murder probe after emergency crews recovered the body of a man from the Leeds and Liverpool canal early on Thursday, March 25. The victim was later identified as 33-year-old Scott Anderton from Leigh.

Tragic Cause of Death Revealed

Detectives confirmed Scott died from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma. His family have been informed and are receiving specialist support as the investigation continues.
