Cocaine Gang Busted in Major City of London Drug Haul
City’s Biggest Cocaine Ring Shut Down
A ruthless cocaine gang running one of the largest drug operations in the City of London has finally been locked up. The crew, known as “Top Gear” or “City Gear,” flooded the streets with hundreds of wraps of cocaine every week.
How the Gang Operated
Using a slick network of couriers — including a black cab driver — the gang pushed drugs across the Square Mile for years. Police cracked the ring wide open, making sure these dealers faced serious jail time.
Gang Members Get Heavy Sentences
- Detective Constable Matt Cooper (black cab courier) – 2 years 9 months
- Aaron Bretao, 43, Skinner Street – 4 years 3 months
- Matthew Samuels, 33, Bermondsey – 3 years 6 months for cocaine and cannabis supply
- Josh Atherton, 24, Islington – 2-year suspended sentence for cocaine supply plus 4 months for possession of a noxious weapon
End of a Drug Empire
Police hailed the sentencing as the fall of one of the Square Mile’s most influential cocaine networks. This crackdown sends a clear message to city dealers: crime does not pay.
