Brothers Brutally Belt Man in Unprovoked Attack Near Subway

Leon Price, 38, and Billy Price, 26, lost control after a boozy Friday night near the subway linking Mount Pleasant Drive and St Johns Drive. The 23-year-old victim from Winsford was just walking along St Johns Drive when the brothers suddenly launched at him shortly after 6.30pm on 12 June.

Shocking Assault Caught on Camera

The pair were drinking near a tree by the subway when they spotted the victim. They waved wildly, shouted, and gestured aggressively. Then Leon Price whipped off his belt and SMACK — struck the man on the head with it. The brothers climbed on top, pounding him with kicks and punches while he lay helpless on the floor.

The violent duo fled before the victim managed to reach a nearby house and alert police. Officers arrested Leon and Billy later that night in Winsford. Leon still had the belt in his jacket pocket. Forensic tests found the victim’s DNA on it, sealing their fate.

Justice Served at Chester Crown Court

The brothers kept mum in custody but could not escape the evidence. Identified via video lineup and DNA, they pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm. Leon Price of Gladstone Street was jailed for 16 months. Billy Price of Booth Lane, Middlewich, got 12 months behind bars. Both must pay a £156 victim surcharge.

Police Warn: Violence Won’t Be Tolerated

“Leon Price and Billy Price were both under the influence of alcohol when they subjected the victim to an unprovoked assault,” said Police Constable Dan Barlow.

“There is no excuse for attacking a man walking past. Thankfully the injuries were minor but it could have been much worse. Cheshire Constabulary is committed to cracking down on violent offenders to keep our communities safe.”

The Price brothers now face the consequences behind bars — a stark warning to anyone thinking of similar attacks in Cheshire.
