Two Charged in Brutal Folkestone Stabbing
Two men have been charged with attempted murder after a serious stabbing in Folkestone. Kent Police were called to a private home on Firs Lane at 10:45am on Friday, 4 April 2025. A man in his 50s was found with severe injuries, including a stab wound.
The victim was rushed to a London hospital and remains in stable condition.
Four Arrested in Connection with Attack
Shortly after the assault, officers stopped a car in Dymchurch and detained two men, aged 45 and 40. Later the same day, two more men aged 24 and 73 were also arrested. All four are reportedly known to each other.
On Sunday, 6 April, detectives charged Abdul Gunes, 73, of The Leas, Folkestone, and Necdet Gunes, 45, of Windmill Close, Folkestone, with attempted murder. They have been remanded in custody and are set to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 7 April.
The other two men arrested were released without charge.
Bloody Scene Shocks Witnesses
Witnesses recalled seeing the victim covered in blood following the violent attack. Emergency services, including forensic teams, stayed at the scene all day as the investigation unfolded.
