Two 18-Year-Olds Charged with Murder in East London Stabbing
Shomiah McKenzie, 18, from Lewisham, and Cody Godfrey, 18, from Isle of Dogs, were charged with murder on Friday, 9 August. Both teenagers face serious accusations linked to a fatal stabbing.
Additional Charges: Drugs and Weapons
The pair were also slapped with charges of possession of Class C drugs with intent to supply. To make matters worse, McKenzie is facing an extra charge for possession of an offensive weapon.
Fatal Stabbing at New Union Close
The charges follow the tragic stabbing of 23-year-old Abdul Jalloh on the afternoon of Monday, 5 August at New Union Close, E14. Jalloh’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Investigations
Both McKenzie and Godfrey were remanded in custody and are set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Saturday, 10 August.
A third individual, a 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released under investigation as police continue their enquiries.
