Drug Dealers Jailed After Terrifying Kidnap and Assault

Debt Drama Turns Violent
On 23 June 2020, Alshamrani and Boutafala threatened the victim and his family. They showed up at his home around midnight. Though he tried to pay off his debt, the pair forced him into their car.
They drove him to a remote sports field near Leamington. There, they assaulted him and made him strip, threatening to throw ammonia on him if he refused.

Jury Finds Drug Dealers Guilty
Police arrested the duo in Coventry city centre after a thorough investigation. Alshamrani, 20, of Furlong Road, Coventry, faces charges of kidnap, assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH), two counts of supplying Class A drugs, plus possessing offensive weapons.
Boutafala, 24, formerly of Prince of Wales Close, is charged with kidnap, ABH, and two counts linked to Class A drug supply.
Both denied the charges, but after a two-week trial at Warwick Crown Court, the jury found them guilty on all counts on Friday, 1 December. Sentencing is set for 19 January.
Detective Sergeant Magnus Mcauley said: “This was a particularly horrendous incident made worse by how the pair threatened and ultimately, humiliated the victim.
“Although he has made a full physical recovery, the mental scars and anguish of what he went through will no doubt remain for a long time.
“I hope he can now try to move on with the next chapter of his life free from the threat of drugs.Despite being a lengthy and comprehensive investigation, ultimately, we have got the right outcome.”
