Raging Thugs Jail for Brutal Police Attack

Cop Savagely Attacked in Terrifying Ordeal
Upon arrival, the centre manager revealed that Curnock was inside, despite being banned. Pc Evans found him in Cox’s room. Curnock exploded with rage and refused to calm down. The situation quickly escalated into a terrifying assault: the officer was punched, kicked, bitten, and put in a deadly headlock, struggling to breathe.
A final, brutal kick to the head left Pc Evans unconscious on the floor. The defendants egged each other on as the officer tried to use PAVA spray—but accidentally hit his colleague instead. Despite this, the other officer hit the emergency button, summoning backup within minutes.
Justice Served: Jail Time for Assault
- Curnock pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was sentenced to 18 months behind bars.
- Cox admitted assaulting a police officer and breaching a community order, landing her a 7-month jail term.
“The job of a response police officer is unique. Every time an officer responds to a 999 call they are prepared and ready to put themselves in harm’s way to protect others,” said Superintendent Attwell.
“They are ordinary people doing an extraordinary job and any violence inflicted upon officers will not be tolerated. Jail for these two individuals is justice served.”
