Big Drug Haul Seized After Faulty Windscreen Sparks Police Stop
Cheshire cops made a major bust on Tuesday, 17 January when they pulled over a red Renault Kangoo near Thelwall Viaduct. The reason? A cracked windscreen caught their eye at around 1pm.
Drug Test Turns Up Green Gold
The driver, 36-year-old Derek Miller, failed a roadside breath and drugs test. That led officers to search the vehicle, where they uncovered three vacuum bags stuffed with 26kg of cannabis. The haul is worth a staggering £104,000 to £182,000 on the street.
Two Men Arrested and Behind Bars
- Miller and his passenger, 46-year-old Mark Lindsey, both from Cambusnethan, Wishaw, were arrested for drug offences.
- They were charged with being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.
- Both pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court.
- On 24 April, Miller was handed an eight-month jail sentence, while Lindsey got six months.
A routine traffic stop turned into a hefty drug bust that put two dealers behind bars. Not bad for spotting a dodgy windscreen!
