Lewis Benjamin, 30, from Waddon New Road, Croydon, was handed a massive 20-year sentence. That includes 14 years for manslaughter and 6 years for perverting the course of justice. His partner in crime, 29-year-old Jamal Ali-Richards from Thornlaw Road, Norwood, was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months—5 years and 6 months for manslaughter, plus 3 years for trying to cover it up.
