Two men nabbed after burglary spree caught in Thamesgate shopping centre raid!

Early Morning Store Raid Foiled

In the small hours of Monday 14 February 2022, police swooped on Thamesgate shopping centre. Officers had been tipped off about a suspicious man lurking nearby. Their quick response uncovered a targeted store break-in.

With backup from a police helicopter, patrols scoured the area. The hunt led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of stolen electrical goods.

Burglar Duo Charged

Meet Constantin Milea, 30, from Gerald Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne and Wear, and Constantin Porumb, 41, from Mallards Road, Barking, Essex. Both have been charged with burglary.

Milea faces a host of other charges linked to a string of break-ins stretching across the country. His alleged crime spree includes raids on businesses in Maidstone (22 December 2021), Mansfield (22 September), High Wycombe (16 August), Bishop’s Stortford (2 and 23 July), and Brentwood (15 and 18 June).

Court Dates Set

The pair appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 16 February. Both were remanded ahead of their next hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 16 March.
