Teen Stabbing Shock: Two Boys Charged After 16-Year-Old Stabbed in Bersted
Stabbing Horror on Frandor Road
Two teenage boys have been charged with wounding with intent after a 16-year-old lad was stabbed in Bersted, near Bognor Regis, on Monday evening, February 24. Emergency services rushed to Frandor Road at 7:35pm where they found the victim seriously injured.
The 16-year-old was rushed to hospital and is now fighting fit in a stable condition.
Three Teens Arrested, Two Now Charged
Just after the stabbing, police arrested two suspects aged 16 and 14. Both boys have now been hit with charges of wounding with intent. The younger teenager also faces an extra count of possessing a knife in public.
The pair have been remanded in custody and are due in Crawley Magistrates’ Court this Wednesday, February 26.
A third 16-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and assisting an offender. He remains in police custody as the investigation heats up.
Police Hunt for Witnesses and CCTV
Sussex Police are urging anyone who saw the incident or has CCTV or dashcam footage to step forward immediately. They’re desperate for clues as enquiries continue.
“We are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident and are asking anyone with information to report it online or phone 101 quoting Operation Cornflower,” said a Sussex Police spokesperson.
Police Appeal for Calm and Caution
Because the suspects are underage, their identities cannot be revealed. Police warn the public to avoid speculation and not to share posts that could jeopardise the ongoing investigation.
