Shop Smash Spree: Local Man Busted for Racist Crime Rampage

Raheem Bourne, 30, has been locked up for a year after trashing shops across Northampton town centre. The Edith Street resident was sentenced at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, December 13.

48 Hours of Vandalism

Bourne went on a furious two-day wrecking spree on December 9 and 10, smashing windows and causing chaos. Nine local businesses bore the brunt, racking up thousands in damages and a hefty £12,000 compensation bill.

Hate Crime Hate Hits Hard

The court revealed Bourne’s attacks were racially and religiously aggravated, turning a vandalism spree into a targeted hate crime. His destruction spread across key spots including Abington Street, Mercer’s Row, Wellingborough Road, Bridge Street, the Drapery, and St Leonards Road.
