Violent Drifter Jailed Nearly 10 Years for Fatal Attack in Oxford & Brutal Banbury Assault
Stanley Saxon’s deadly rampage comes to justice
A violent drifter, Stanley Saxon, 45, has been slammed with a hefty prison sentence after admitting manslaughter for the death of a 67-year-old man in Oxford last summer – plus a savage 2021 assault in Banbury.
Saxon, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty at Oxford Crown Court on January 12, 2026. Today, February 27, he was handed a total sentence of nine years and eight months behind bars. That includes an extra 19 months for the grievous bodily harm (GBH) attack in Banbury.
Fatal punch in Oxford’s St Aldates
On July 19, 2025, Saxon launched a vicious punch at Leszek Kaminski, 67, on Speedwell Street, St Aldates. The blow sent Mr Kaminski crashing to the floor, where he hit his head. The injury proved fatal, and he died in hospital the next day.
Police arrested Saxon right at the scene, charging him two days later.
Brutal Banbury beating
But Saxon’s violence didn’t start there. Back on April 27, 2021, in Banbury town centre, he attacked another man without mercy. He punched the victim in the face, knocking him down. Saxon then relentlessly punched and stamped on the man’s head while he lay helpless on the ground.
Thankfully, this victim survived the horror.
Detective’s warning and family tribute
“This case has presented a painful set of circumstances for all involved, with devastating and fatal consequences for Mr Kaminski,” said Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin.
“Saxon’s actions were unlawful and led to the death of a much-loved man. Our thoughts remain with Mr Kaminski’s family and everyone affected by this tragic loss.”
“Saxon also admitted a serious violent assault in Banbury in 2021. He is clearly prone to violent outbursts and will now serve a significant prison sentence for his crimes.”
