Teen Charged With Murder in Camden Killing
18-Year-Old Arrested for Anthony Marks’ Death
An 18-year-old woman, Mia Campos-Jorge from Milton Road, Haringey, has been charged with the murder of 51-year-old Anthony Marks. She was arrested on Monday, December 9, and charged the same day. Campos-Jorge is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today.
The Murder Case Unfolds
Anthony Marks was attacked on Whidborne Street, Camden, on Saturday, August 10. He spent three days in hospital before initially being discharged. But two weeks later, he suffered a seizure and was rushed back to hospital, where he sadly died on Wednesday, September 25.
Police have been investigating the link between the assault and Marks’ death since then.
Three Others Also Charged in the Case
Campos-Jorge is the fourth person charged over the murder. The others are:
- Harry Gittins, 35, from Regent Square, Camden
- A 17-year-old boy (name withheld for legal reasons)
- A 17-year-old girl (name also withheld)
All three remain in custody awaiting trial.
Ongoing Investigation and Community Reaction
Police say the investigation is very much active. They urge anyone with information to come forward, either directly to the Metropolitan Police or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
The Camden community has been shaken by the tragedy. Earlier this year, a vigil was held to honour Anthony Marks and demand justice. Local leaders are calling on residents to support police efforts as the case moves forward.
