Sick predator caught after terrifying attack on girl at Leeds park swings

Chilling attack at Woodhouse Moor swings

A 15-year-old girl was left petrified when Yassine Ahmed, 26, preyed on her while she swung at Woodhouse Moor Park in Leeds. Ahmed, who calmly greeted the girl and her younger brother before launching his vile assault, has now been locked up for 22 months after admitting sexual and common assault charges.

The horror unfolded around midday on August 26, when Ahmed sat next to the children on a bench. Prosecutor Jemima Stephenson-Finn told Leeds Crown Court that Ahmed put his hand on the girl’s thigh before making creepy comments about “some girls being very nice” as he leered at her.

He rubbed her thigh and reached to touch her bra strap. Frozen with fear, the girl didn’t react when Ahmed tried to coax a hug, placing his arm on the bench beside her.

Bizarre moves and stalking behaviour

  • Ahmed forced the children to move benches but followed close behind.
  • He asked for a drink, then grabbed the boy’s knee and squeezed tightly.
  • He tried to get the girl’s phone number but was refused.
  • After they left, Ahmed trailed them again—prompting the girl to snap photos before they fled.

Police swoop after family speaks out

Concerned by her daughter’s sudden struggles with eating and sleeping, the girl’s mum encouraged her to reveal the ordeal. Photos of Ahmed were handed to police.

A nearby PCSO soon spotted Ahmed in the park wearing the same clothes. He lied about his identity, claiming he was there to play football, but was soon unmasked. Both children identified him in an ID parade.

No fixed address offender jailed and labelled

Ahmed, with no previous convictions and no fixed address, was sentenced to 22 months behind bars. He was hit with a 10-year spot on the sex offender register and slapped with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Justice serves a warning: predators will face tough consequences for terrorising innocent kids in Leeds parks.
