Baby Boy Found Dead at Waterbeach Recycling Centre – Police Urge Mum to Come Forward
Tragic Discovery on A10 Ely Road
On Tuesday, November 29, staff at a Waterbeach recycling site made a heartbreaking discovery. The body of an infant boy was found at the location along the A10 Ely Road. A week later, Cambridgeshire police are still hunting for the baby’s mother.
Police and NHS Make Urgent Plea
Detective Chief Superintendent John Massey said on Tuesday, “Our investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing, and we are still trying to locate the baby’s mother.” He added that the post-mortem results were inconclusive and that further tests are underway.
Carol Anderson, Chief Nursing Officer at NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, made a direct appeal to the mother: “We are very concerned for the mother of the baby boy who was tragically discovered at a recycling centre in Waterbeach last week. We want her to come forward for the medical help and support she needs.”
Support Is Ready and Waiting
Anderson emphasised that all NHS services are available: “She can seek assistance by visiting her local GP, midwifery team, or A&E department, or by calling NHS 111 first if she prefers. Please do not be afraid to come forward.”
