Wild Chase on the A48 as Suspect Ploughs Into Cars
At around 12:20pm on Thursday 16 October, police targeted a blue Volkswagen Scirocco on the A48 near Alvington. The car was linked to drug dealing, and officers believed the driver was unlicensed.
Instead of pulling over, the driver floored it, smashing into four other cars, damaging panels and wing mirrors. Miraculously, no one was hurt in the pile-up.

The chase came to a dramatic halt after the Scirocco crashed in Sedbury. The driver jumped out and bolted into dense woodland nearby.
A massive search involving the National Police Air Service, Dog Unit, and Gwent Police failed to catch the fugitive, who remains at large.
Class B Drugs Found in Abandoned Getaway Car
Police searched the deserted Scirocco and uncovered a stash of Class B drugs along with scales and drug paraphernalia. All evidence was seized and the car taken for forensic analysis.
A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesperson said: “We’re asking anyone who saw the blue Volkswagen Scirocco’s driver or knows his whereabouts to get in touch. Any dashcam or mobile footage will be invaluable.”
