Police have released the first image of an 18-year-old teen who was fatally stabbed in Leytonstone on Saturday afternoon. The attack occurred at 2.15pm on August 6, when officers responded to reports of a stabbing on High Road, E11.

Emergency teams arrived quickly and administered first aid at the scene before the London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance took over. Despite their efforts, the young man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Ghulam Sadiq, an 18-year-old resident of the Leytonstone area. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers. A post-mortem examination is planned to establish the exact cause of death.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command spoke about the incident, describing it as a brutal daylight attack. “On a summer Saturday afternoon, he was attacked in broad daylight on the busy High Road,” she said. “I know this will shock and anger the local community. We will do everything possible to identify and prosecute those responsible.”

So far, no arrests have been made. The area was busy at the time of the stabbing, and police are urgently seeking any eyewitnesses who may have seen the incident or suspicious behavior.

Detective Chief Inspector Bradley urged, “Did you see the stabbing or a fight? Did you notice anyone acting suspiciously? Have dashcam footage from the area? No piece of information is too minor. Please come forward and help us bring justice.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting case number 3896/06AUG. Tips, images, or footage can also be submitted via the Major Incident Public Reporting Site under Operation Waspgreen.
