Low-Life Conmen Target Elderly Man in Shocking Waterlooville Burglary
Two brazen criminals have been caught on the prowl in Waterlooville, tricking their way into an elderly man’s home before making off with his wallet and £560 in stolen cash.
Thieves Use Toilet Trick to Rob 80-Year-Old
On the evening of Tuesday, September 13, the victim, an 80-year-old gentleman living on Bere Road, was duped by a pair of conmen claiming they needed to use his toilet. After spending a few minutes inside, the men left—but not before swiping his blazer, which held his wallet.
Shortly afterwards, the victim’s Post Office account was hit with two cash withdrawals totalling £560. Police are now on the hunt for these slippery crooks.
Descriptions Released: Two Men in White Tops with Tree Logos
- Man 1: White male, tanned skin, around 5ft 4ins, wearing a white top with a small tree logo on the chest.
- Man 2: White male, tanned skin, approximately 5ft 10ins, overweight, wearing a white top also featuring a tree logo.
Police Urge Public to Stay Vigilant
DC Jonathan Duggan, Northern Investigation Team, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen these men in the area at the time. I would also like to remind people to keep their homes locked and secure, especially with the approach of darker evenings, and not to allow strangers into their homes under any pretext without first checking their identity.”
