Tragic Death After Tractor Crash in Fiddington

Man in His 50s Killed in Late-Night Collision

A man has died after a tractor crash near Tewkesbury in Fiddington late on Saturday night, 9 August. The incident happened around 11.25pm when a tractor smashed through hedges and hit several parked vehicles along Monks Lane.

The passenger, a man in his 50s, suffered serious injuries. Despite immediate first aid from bystanders and frantic efforts from police and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Driver Arrested on Dangerous Driving Charges

A man in his 20s, believed to be the tractor driver, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through alcohol. His next of kin have been informed and the coroner notified.

Vintage Show Cut Short After Fatal Smash

The crash occurred shortly after the Severn Vale Vintage Club’s annual show, held earlier that day at the site. Event organisers confirmed the show will remain closed on Sunday, 10 August, in light of the tragedy.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Gloucestershire Police urge anyone who saw the crash or has information to come forward. Witnesses yet to speak to officers should contact Gloucestershire Constabulary online, quoting incident 591 of 9 August.
