Wootton 999 Hoaxer Sparks Fifth Emergency Call
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has been duped for the fifth time at the same Wootton property tonight. Fire crews raced to St Edmunds Walk at 9.45pm after another false 999 alarm.

Appliances from Newport and Ryde, plus a special unit from Newport, responded to the call. This latest hoax is the fifth in just a few weeks, racking up thousands of pounds in wasted resources.
Resident With Issues Caught in the Crossfire
A fire service insider revealed an elderly occupant with personal difficulties lives at the address. Firefighters are now teaming up with partner agencies to stop the hoax calls and support the resident.
