Five Lakes College Students Dive Into Civil Nuclear Constabulary Training
Five Lakes College students recently took on a thrilling work experience at the Civil Nuclear Constabulary’s Griffin Park Tactical Training Facility.
Europe’s Largest Live Fire Range Gives Students a Taste of Action
At Griffin Park, home to Europe’s biggest 360-degree live fire range, students got hands-on training in dog handling, first aid, and weapon maintenance. They also chatted with police officers and staff, learning about the vital roles within the Constabulary.
Career Ambitions Fired Up
The students impressed with their motivation and performance. Three have already applied to join the force – two aiming for police staff roles and one hoping to become an Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO).
Chief Insp Marcus Robson, Tactical Unit Commander, said: “Griffin Park continues to host work experience placements with Lakes College and other institutions. It’s fantastic to see the students enjoying themselves and the maturity they show. We’ve had several applicants join CNC after their time here, and we’ll keep using Griffin Park’s unique facilities to attract the next generation as the Constabulary grows.”
College and CNC Team Up for Future Policing Stars
Amelia Scoon, work placement officer at Lakes College, said: “We have built a strong relationship with CNC, who support all kinds of training and enrichment for our policing students. Our students finish the week with a clearer view of their options and better prepared for life after college.”
