Del Richards has retired after more than three decades of protecting Londoners from fire. He started his career in 1986 at New Cross Fire Station, quickly climbing the ranks to Leading Firefighter at Westminster.
Climbing the Ladder: From Sub Officer to Watch Manager
Del’s journey didn’t stop there. He served as both Sub Officer and Station Officer at Westminster before dedicating six years to training the next generation of firefighters. His final posts saw him at Soho and then as Watch Manager on Lambeth’s blue watch.
