Man Battles for Life After Horror Crash Throws Him From Bridge in Basingstoke
A pedestrian is fighting for life after a nasty two-car crash on Worting Road, Basingstoke, left him plummeting from a bridge onto Ringway West below.
Serious Smash Involving Pedestrian and Two Cars
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 9.34am following reports of a collision involving a red Vauxhall Astra, a silver Vauxhall Vectra, and a man on foot. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries after falling onto Ringway West below the bridge. Fortunately, both drivers escaped unharmed.
Major Road Closures and Chaos
- Ringway West southbound is shut from Thorneycroft Road roundabout.
- Worting Road closed at Sandys Road roundabout.
- Closures also at the 1 roundabout and slip road where Ringway West northbound meets Worting Road.
The northbound carriageway remains open but is gridlocked, with traffic at a complete standstill.
