Young Man Dies in Horror Lorry Crash on A429 Bristol Road
A tragic smash on the A429 in Cirencester has claimed the life of a 19-year-old pedestrian after he was struck by a lorry yesterday evening.
Fatal Collision Near Waitrose Sparks Road Closure
Emergency crews were called to the scene near Waitrose at around 9.45pm on Friday, 17 October. The young man was hit by a lorry and pronounced dead at the scene.
The A429 remained closed until 1pm Saturday while police completed a full forensic investigation.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Gloucestershire Constabulary said: “The man, aged 19, sadly died at the scene. His next of kin are aware and being supported by specially trained officers.”
The force added: “Closures on Bristol Road have now been lifted. We thank the public for their patience while investigations were ongoing.”
Officers are appealing for anyone who travelled along the A429 between Cirencester Fire Station and Cirencester Hospital roundabouts around 9.30pm last night and may have seen a pedestrian near the carriageway to come forward.
