Child Rape Suspect Nabbed in Liverpool
A Sri Lankan man wanted by French authorities for allegedly raping a child has been arrested in Liverpool, the National Crime Agency (NCA) confirmed.
Extradition Unit Snaps Up Suspect
Sujanth Ketheeswararasa, 30, was caught by officers from the NCA’s National Extradition Unit in Liverpool city centre on Wednesday. French police allege he raped a young girl.
Extradition Battle Begins
Mr Ketheeswararasa appeared in a London court on Thursday and was remanded in custody. He will face a video hearing at Westminster magistrates’ court on 27 November, with the full extradition hearing pencilled in for 26 March 2026.
